If chrysler could flip the shocks upside down and produce a better ride, I'm sure they would do it. Especially since it wouldn't cost them anything..

Sounds like grade-A bologna.

Exactly whaaayyyy?

Some shocks mostly oil and gas charged ones can be mounted either way, but even those shocks can loose effective travel over time.

Twin tube shocks are not designed to be mounted upside down.

There are reasons for doing it like:
Mounting the reservoir away from the undercarriage exposes to more airflow for cooling which can help reduce fade over sustained high frequency cycling (no not rock crawling ) and it keeps the piston which can be susceptible to nicks further away from flying gravel and debris.
The tradeoff is the reservoir is more exposed to physical damage and it can reduce the shock lifetime.

My question is not really worded correctly, haha. I am looking at universal shocks, is there any thing available that will allow our jk to receive universal shocks? Inherintly the shocks I am looking at are monotube/reservoir shocks that would have the body up.

if they work better upside down, then why don't they build them so they mount correctly, but are upside down?

Yes, by all means. Mount them upside down so they'll fill with mud and water. Sounds like a plan to me.

I am assuming you are looking for a bar pin eliminator for the back, and something like the Currie fron shock relocator for the front so you no longer have the stud on the shock.
