Btw,once you get them in the lower mount, use a large screwdriver or small prybar to get the hole to line up.

This is the easiest approach. Remmber that even pressure and some patience will get the shocks to push up. Once at or near the bolt hole use a screwdriver to push through and hold the shock in place. Then just push the bolt through and force the screwdriver out. Remember to shove the screwdriver in from the side you want the NUT to be on!

I had some PITA shocks to do like this but patience and manliness will get it done!

i did this once to install new gas shocks on my hardtop...

It seemed like an impossible task until i remembered some grade school science (hot gas = high pressure/cold gas = lower pressure).

I put the gas pistons in the freezer and it lowered the pressure enough to install them, although it still took a little force. It may help just a little bit...

If you haven't been to the gym lately, the easiest method will be to support your frame on jackstands, disconnect you swaybar, and lower the axle with a jack.

Don't think about it, just do it. Not the same shock, a shock is a shock ,but this write-up should help you.
