Default Shock lenghs??

A short time ago I installed Rancho RS5000 shocks on my jk, X-unlimited. It was equiped with a Daystar spacer lift (1 3/4" in front-3/4" in the rear. I just traded for a Rubi and had a 2.5" lift installed. I saved the Ranchos off the X, my question is will the Rancho RS5000s fit on the Rubi with the lift? The lift (Skyjacker) came with the Hydro shocks and I want Gas shocks.

They will fit, but will limit your bottom travel. To get full use and articulation of your lift, get the 2.5" shocks.

Well I know you have the 5000 series but what is the colapsed length and extended lengths because I beleive there are different travel available for these shocks. If they are not designed for at least a 2.5" lift then they will become an issue with your lift because they will not extend completely. Also bottoming out the shocks can speed up the wear and tear of the shocks and they will not last as long. It's better to get the correct shock for the lift and if they are to long then you can get limiting straps.

It would be cool if someone could come up with a chart showing compressed and extended lengths for shocks with different size lift installed.

I wished the same thing about the chart showing shock sizes.

With my four inch lift I have this information to share...

Has anyone come across a chart like this??? It would be really helpful for trying to figure out what shocks I need to fix this current problem I'm having with my current shocks.

There is no chart. I have been in your alls shoes. you need to contact a manufaturer of the shcok and ask. Even then that doesnt always work, call FT and see.

Teraflex makes the best droop that I have found. I will be going with their 6 inch lift shocks with my 4 inch lift for a total of 31 inches of extention. I currently run a 27.5 inch droop and 17 inch compression for about 11 inches of travel. Got me a great RTI score of 880 with the tires aired down.

There a chart in the Quadratec catalog and their web site will zero in on exactly the right shocks for your lift.

Edit: Just had to check if Quadratec is still a sponsor - they are! Here's the link to their "Shock Advisor":
