Default Shock Options

Anyone running the Rock Krawler 3.5 X Factor please chime in.

My setup was initially the RK 2.5 Stock Mod with Fox 2.0 Performance shocks (1.5-3.5" lifts). I really liked the shocks and how they handled the Jeep on and off road.

I have recently moved to the RK 3.5 X Factor to get a bit more belly clearance and I am running the original Fox shocks above. These shocks, even though being rated to 3.5" bottom out too soon as I found out when I cycled the suspension.

I've been researching online for the proper set of shocks to go with this lift and have gotten a bit confused.

According to RK's website, if you go with their RRD shocks, you will need the 3" bumpstops (which I currently have installed). Or, if you choose any other shock and go with their recommendations on lengths, you should use 2" bumpstops. The set of Fox 2.0 Performance shocks that fit into the RK dimensions are rated for 7-8" of lift with 2" bumpstops. This completely skips the Fox shocks in the 4-6" range. I'm sure this is for maximum articulation.

If anybody has this setup with either set of shocks please provide some insight and pics of articulation if you have them. And regarding the Fox shocks, provide some part numbers to help me better understand to make an informed decision on what to buy. I'm looking at remote reservoir shocks this time around.

I don't know enough about the RK RRD shocks compared to the Fox ones to know if I should go that route or what. I'm leaning more to the Fox based on how long they've been in business and from previous uses.

These are for a 2007 JKU with aftermarket front/ rear bumpers, sliders, and soft top. Last I weighed the Jeep, it was around 4660 lbs. I plan on a winch and fenders at some point.
