Default Shock recommendation for 3-4inch lift

Hello JK-Forum! I'm back here for some needed advise/recommendations on new shocks for my JK. I have about a 3.5 inch lift and currently have Procomp shocks that I have had to replace twice now within 10- 12k miles because they leak. I have been fairly happy with the ride from them but they keep leaking after 10-12k miles. The first set I had the back started leaking after not even 10k miles and then the second set made it to about 12k miles but the front started seeping and the rear had a much larger leak (enough to make R brakes squeak from leaking on the rear brakes. I usually go with Bilstein shocks but I wanted to see what some of you guys/gals are running? Any suggestions? Thoughts on Rough Country shocks?

I'm am on 3.5" MetalCloak coils, roughly 4.5" measured height.

Bilstein 5100's
Front 24-186872 - 27.56 / 16.41 / 11.15
Rear 33-186887 - 27.36 / 16.96 / 10.40
Ran these for a bit, thought they were quite stiff, but some other folks seem to like them.

OME's Long Travel shocks
Front 60066L - 27.28 / 15.90 / 11.38
Rear 60067L - 27.79 / 16.61 / 11.18
Currently running these, much better ride than the bilsteins were.

MetalCloak has their Rocksport shock that is another option.
I believe it was based on the specs of the OME LT, which they used to sell before releasing this shock. (They also have a 12" travel front shock.)

And the Rancho 9000 shocks are quite popular with the initial adjustability to get them set where you want them. (Some folks report problems with the adjusters seizing or breaking off after time, but no experience with these.)

First thing you should do is make sure your bump stops are set up to prevent the shocks from bottoming out as that could be the cause of the leaking. Stay away from the Rough country shocks, they suck (yes I currently have them). On my TJ I ran both the Bilstein 5100s and the Metalcloak Rocksports, both were very nice with the Rocksports giving a slightly better ride on rough roads. I will be putting the Rocksports on my JK.

Thank You I Appreciate the information! Bump stops are good! I did check this as this was my first thought as well! I do like a stiffer ride than most even with a bad back. I have had really good luck with Bilstein shocks on my Toyota's so I Think that's the way I will go. Thanks Again!

I'm sure those Kings are very nice and come with a nice price tag too! I wish! Maybe one day I'll have something worth putting kings on.....
