Default shock swaps

Hi all. I have 1 year on a 2012 unlimited 3.5" lift with procomp mono tube shocks. I ride 35+12.5+20 mts. I drive90% hghwy and do trailride, beach, mud....no rock crawling. I am happy with my hghwy ride but my truck slams low speed bumps on strret. Id like a little softer shock, prob with ext res. Id like good quality without paying top dollarl suggestions anyone????? Thx for help!

Bilstein 5160 for the reservoirs
Fox shocks with reservoirs
King shocks with reservoirs

Those go from "cheapest" to most expensive. Tons of guys here run the Bilstein shocks and love them. For their price, I'll be upgrading to them next year.

I appreciate the input Delux. I know the Bilsteins as that was my initial choice. Anyone running the Fox or Kings wil some good or bad thoughts?

I had the Bilstein 5100's (non res) and they were awesome all around. The 5160's are suppose to be the same ride as the 5100's only better consistent performance with less fade using the remote res. I'm now running the Fox 2.0 remote res, truth be told on road they ride a bit stiffer than the Bilstein's, but offroad they kill. Soak it all up, especially higher speed hits. Either way you'll be happy though, both good choices. Better road ride-Bilstein, better off-Fox. IMO ofcourse........

My JK was "slamming low speed bumps" on the trail. Changing to longer springs and shocks made some difference, but you already did this with your lift.

The real solution for me was Teraflex Speedbumps. They do two things: 1. They absorb the "slam" when the suspension bottoms out, and 2. They match the longer shock so's the shock doesn't act as the bump stop (ouch!).

Swapping shocks might change things a little, but getting the suspension to bottom softly on the right bump stops set to the right height will make a big difference.

The Bilstein 5160's or the Fox Reservoirs are about the same price. You'll be happy with either one.
