Fox like King shocks are specifically designed for high performance applications and racing where sustained high speed high frequency cycling can cause significant shock fade and higher stresses on pistons, valves and seals.
Nitrogen and reservoirs are two ways manufacturers use to reduce shock operating temperature and fade.
You may want to start by choosing a budget because the Fox units usually cost $200+ each.
The Bilsteins decisively won a recent shock survey in this forum as one of the best conventional application shocks, although they also make high performance models. They run $80-100 each.
There are other very good shocks that run a bit less like the OMEs. TF shocks are very popular amongst members so you should be able to get a lot of feedback on them.
Ranchos are very popular in the 4X4 PU world probably because of the brands market share of PU lift kits.
