Default shocks

how long do shocks last? I have 45000 on my 08 is it time? also if you get shock extenders instead of longer travel shocks with a 2 -3 inch lift am I correct in assuming that you won't be able to use all of the travel?

Shocks are bad when they start leaking or your Jeep continues to bounce after hitting a bump. So they could last the life of your vehicle or the day you drive it off the lot. There is no mileage or time limit. My Honda vehicles have never had the shocks or struts replaced. Most guys change out the stock shocks because they suck...The Good aftermarket shocks are much better.

When do you make the decision to upgrade look to an adjustable shock. It is such an improvement over stock.

It is nice to have cushy soft shocks for the highway that you can adjust to stiff shocks for better offroad performance.
