I have Bilstein 5100's on right now, made tough and they ride pretty smooth...No experience with Rancho's though

i have had both. Like these others dudes said, go with bilstein's. The ride is much smoother/softer. Really nice on road. Although a stiff shock has its benefits off road...i assume most of your time will be spent on road. Bilsteins for sure.

If you answered "yes" to any of these, Rancho.

RS7000MT is our monotube, not as highly charged as others, so a smooth/firm ride.
RS9000XL is our adjustable shock, from a "soft" setting to "firm" by turning a knob.

100% bils!!!!! I dont have them on my jeep cause I'm running King coil overs,, but I did a ton of research before finally deciding to put them on my chevy 3500 diesel 4x4. I could not be happier with their performance. I have had nothing but problems with Rancho shocks since I was 16 yrs old! Good luck with your choice
