Default Shocks and Bump Stops Question

I've been doing a lot of reading through this forum and have decided that my future JK will have a suspension system built for speed; which means light weight, good shocks, and bump stops. I've looked at the Teraflex PreRunner setup and like the kit but I keep going back to Rock Krawler, so this is what I've decided on:

Rock Krawler 3.5 X Factor Pro Mid Arm (because RK has options for long arm upgrades) with the RRD Racing Emulsion Coil Over Shocks and Fox 2.0 Air Bump Stops.

Will this combo work? I've been back an forth between the Teraflex, EVO King, and Fox Air Bumps, as well as RRD Racing Shocks, EVO King Shocks, and the Teraflex tuned Fox Shox.

Here's my situation: I'm a college student working a full time job in the butthole of the country. I plan on joining Air Force Pararescue in a few years, and don't see myself doing anything but mild trails until I can save up enough money in the military and build my jeep the way I want (RockJock 60s front/rear, 37" - 40" MTRs), so for now I'm looking at building a very capable DD that I can upgrade in the future (long arms and reservoirs on RRDs), but for now will give me a smooth ride on and off road.

Default Good choices.

I am waiting for experienced replies to this as well. You have the same idea I have to "upgrade" my JK too!

I'm eagerly the arrival of my parts to accomplish pretty much the same thing. Well, faster trail ridding and stuff, no rock crawling in my area. But, I didn't go with the light weight, actually added a few hundred lbs!

I got some fantastic advice from Planman and others. While I didn't get the specific components they suggested, I did follow their low center of gravity formula.

I ordered the Rock Krawler 2.5 MaxTravel with RRD shocks, Tereaflex Speed Bumps. Went with a Poison Spyder 360 deg wrap: Brawler Lite front bumper, Rock Brawler sliders, Brawler rear, and Crusher Flares.

A call to Rock Krawler with the accessories you plan to run will get you their recommendation as to springs and shock valving for your specific application.

Dave,

That sounds a lot like the build I'm getting. I think I've changed my mind from the FOX 2.0 Bump Stops to the Teraflex Speedbumps after watching some videos and reading some reviews. I PMed Rock Krawler and they said they have the add-on reservoirs for their shocks made and images ready...just need to put them on the website!

They also mentioned coming out with hydraulic bump stops in another thread.

EDIT: The RRD Racing Reservoir Shocks and 2.0 Bumpstops are now available on RK's website!!

2.625!!
