Another advantage is the higher end shocks are rebuildable. Break a 5100, you just throw it out and buy another one.

Just think of it as more of a luxury than anything else. You don't need them, but it will improve your ride.

I have the ome long travels and it rides great. My buddy had the same lift with 5100's and mine definitely had a softer ride.

I am going to be running a rrd racing shock 2.0 with resivar from rock Krawler. Paired with a 3.5 rk dual sport lift. Let you know I lift it when I get it on. Should be tues.

I just put these shocks on, they are amazing. I bought them without the reservoir. They are stiff when cornering, braking, and crawling over obstacles, but they smooth the ride on the road so well you won't feel most bumps.

Anyone try the Bilstein 5160s? I heard while they are valved firmer than the 5100, they feel a bit more compliant. A lot of guys here run the 5100s and the OMEs. Have not talked to guy yet who wants to switch.

I have the RK 3.5 lift and the recommended 5100 shocks and the ride is great. My only compliant with the setup is RK recommends a front shock with 29" extention and the bilstein are only 27.5" so I loose out on a little bit of droop.
