Default Shocks for smoother on-road ride?

What are the best aftermarket shocks for making the on-road ride smoother? Sometimes, when I hit a pothole, it feels like the Jeep is going to fall apart. The girlfriend also isn't fond of the super-bumpy ride on-road.

So what kind of shocks will make the ride a bit more comfortable? Will using shocks like this kill my Jeep's off-road performance?

My price range is pretty low. If I could get all four shocks for under $200, that would be great! Or maybe I could start by replacing either the front or rear shocks instead of all of them? Or should I replace them all at the same time?

Try dropping your tire pressure to around 32lbs first.

What about the Bilstein HDs? I have em but they still seem rough. Would another shock be smoother?

Any know about the Edelbrock ISAs?

Thats the problem im actually having also with my 2.5" coil lift and I have the Skayjacker Hydros. What exactly could be torqued wrong, all I disconnected was the sway bar links and replaced the shocks when I put the coils in, can those components be overtightened?

I think those who are having problems need to have a good 4x4 shop put your vehicle up on a lift and go through it. They need to check for worn bushings, egg shaped holes, worn bolts, things mounted incorrectly and out of adjustment and proper torque.

FWIW, after that is done and things are dialed in, OME shocks seem to give as nice a ride as you're going to get. The Bilsteins are going to be more performance oriented and the cheap adjustables are, well, cheap adjustables. There is more to making a shock work properly than being able to adjust one parameter.

So the Bilstein's are a little rough then?

I am at a loss myself. At this point I have replaced my tie rod, drag link with new OEM. My ball joints are good. My tires are road forced and my alignment is 1/4 toed in.

My track bar holes are wallowed but I welded washers and torqued them to 125 on the ground. That worked for awhile but its getting worse again..

I am not thinking track bar bushings but did not notice anything when I had em off to weld the washers. Maybe now the washers are wallowed???

But I agree with others it feels like the Jeep is falling apart on bad potholes and certain bumps. I am at 18K this has been going on since about 6K, however I have never experienced full blown DW..
