Default Shocks with spacers????

sorry guys i know i have seen this on here but i have seen people say yes and no, Im new to having a jeep and trying to find a good opinion about a 2" budget boost spacer kit. Do i need aftermarket shocks? Do i need the exhaust spacers i see for the JKs with a 2"+ lift? Dose it need to be aligned? Is it even worth using the spacers? I have a 2012 sport with 305/60/17s and 17x9s on the way I think im going to do at least coils in a few years but i have been scared into barley wanting to touch this thing by warnings of voided warranty so i want to only put things on that a can pull off within a few hours if i need any major warranty issues.

You do not "need" new shocks, the longer shocks just will give you more down travel and articulation. I know the monotube Rubicon shocks are good to 2" of lift. No you do not need exhaust spacer, only above 2 1/2" lift. Probably will not need alignment, just adjust steering center. This one can be hit or miss.

I just saw you have a Sport. The shocks replacement would e a nice to have not a need. Especially if you do not wheel extremely hard or need every possible fraction of an inch of wheel travel. The spacers are an economical way to improve your stance, you can generally recoup some of your money when you decide to go to a different lift later on by selling them too.

thanks man shocks you can get shocks relatively cheap so i was kind of planing on that anyways but i was more concerned about the alignment and spacers on the exhaust.

Installing spring spacers and running stock shock will only change the ride height. You're not increasing the down travel of the axle on stock shocks so you won't need exhaust spacers.

If you get into a lift kit with shocks that are a couple inches longer then you might need exhaust spacers.

I had 14/56 springs and I swapped them out with 18/59 springs and rubi take off shocks. The springs gave me 1 1/2 lift in front and 3/4 in the rear. Hope this helps.

Usually if you buy a BB they cone with shock extensions. I had ROUGH COUNTRY 2.5"BB and that came with shock extensions and you won't need exhaust spacers for the BB
