Default Shocks or springs or both??

What's setup would be good for really crappy dirt roads. My current lift is a RC 3.5. On pavement its great. No complaints at all but when I hit the back dirt roads of south texas this thing is beating me like I stole something. I know a lot of people say these shocks suck, so my question is should I replace the shocks or go with a softer spring or change both. I need something that absorb some of this beating. I have a 2012 Sahara JKU 3.5 series 2 with 35 inch Nitto trails. Thanks guys.

How much air do you run in the tires? You may need to go lower to get a good ride. Also, Bilstein 5100's are a great shock that won't break the bank. I would definitely lose the crappy RC shocks

Yeah I've heard that the RC shocks suck. I'm running 33lbs. I tried them at 30 and didn't like how it felt. May go ahead and get the bilstiens. Anyone running the reservoir shock in front and the regular 5100 in rear. Maybe I should just go 5100 all around and try that. If that doesn't work maybe change to a softer spring like the Evo plush.

Get some shocks. Adjustable shocks are great to have when you need to dial in a decent ride. Shop around.

Is this your first Jeep? #1 complaint I here from people that have never owned a Jeep, is that they ride rough, compared to a truck or car. No matter what you do, Jeeps will be Jeeps If you expect it to ride like a truck or car, save your money and buy that truck or car. What to buy?, depends on how your going to use your jeep.

No this is not my first jeep. My third. I realize a jeep is a jeep and is going to ride like a jeep. But I know from listening to others the ride can be better. That more or less what I was getting at. I still haven't ordered any shocks yet. Got sidetracked. Now I'm back to the shocks. Still thinking of resivoir shocks on the front. Found a deal on a full set of Elkas that I may jump on. Thanks for all your replays.
