Default Shocks w/ lift

When I get my JK, I plan on putting the Full-Traction 3 inch Premium Flex Suspension System on it.

There is an option of no shocks, 5100 Series Hydraulic shocks, or M-Force Gas monotube shocks. Which would you recommend? If I went with no shocks, then what shocks should I buy else where?

And what does it mean when it says (Example) " 24.95 Stud, or 24.95 Eye?"

"Stud" or "Eye" is how the shock mounts. A stud is a threaded rod that sticks straight out the end of the shock. An eye is a round hole with a bushing in it. The eye mounting is far more common. You also have bar-pins, which is an eye mount with a round bar pushed through it; the round bar then has screw-holes on either end, which are screwed to the shock mount.

Here is a picture of some shocks (NOT for the JK):

You can see the top two shocks are eye-eye, and the bottom shocks are eye-stud, with a bar pin through the eye.

On the JK, the front shock is a stud on top, eye on bottom. The rear shock is an eye on both ends, with a bar-pin on top.

The 24.95 is probably the extended length. Usually shocks are speced by the extended length + how much travel they have, or with the extended and collapsed lengths. Most of the shocks you see for the JK on 3" lift kits will have about 10" of travel or so.

I installed the Full-Traction 3" Econo kit, and I got the M-Force Gas monotube shocks, and I'm happy with them. I would probably recommend these, they are fairly reasonably priced, ride well, and are made to go with your kit.
