Should i install my diff gears myself??
Like has been said before in this thread. If you are a better than average mach. and have done some complicated mechanical assemblys and want to know how to do it then by all means go for it. The cost of the appropriate tools, shims, etc will run the price up pretty good but then you will be set up to do gears in the future. You need to be competent with micrometers and the other precision tools you will need to get the right clearances and be able to read the contact pattern using white lead or what ever the recommended medium is these day and make sure the pattrn is slight towards the heel instead of the toe so it last a long lif and you don't get the dreaded whine and eat the gears. I havew set up several sets of gears so I have all the tools and lots of extra shims and can do it right the first time. When I first started doing it I had to redo a couple of sets even though they were in spec by the manufacturers settings.
Anyway, good luck on whatever you decide

Honestly...my input is if you are worried about a warranty I wouldn't do any modifications to your Jeep, especially the drivetrain. Of course you should always have the ability to access warranty work against your vehicle should you require it, be fore warned that you're going to face great difficulty doing so from any dealership because they will want to blame any and all problems likely related to your modifications. So, with that known, you'll have to decide if it's worth it to you.
