Default Should I Stinger?

So Im getting some work done on the Jeep this weekend and one option I have is to put a stinger on the stock bumper (after plastic is removed). I havent decided yet so I figured I would post up and see what you all think.

Should I make a stinger or not?

If used for function, yeah of course. Aesthetically that's up to you, you're the one who's going to have to look at it

Default To sting or not to sting

They look awesome on the right Jeep but they are not for everyone. It's like the whole jeep thing, you either get it or you don't. The main reason I got mine was to be able to see the front limit of my rig at all times. I thought back about all the Jeeps I had admired before I started my build and most of them had stingers. But it's your rig, so go with your gut... you'll be right about 99% of the time.

Do you need/use a stinger when wheeling?
I think they look cool but I haven't been in a situation where I needed one.
The choice is yours.

I voted no only because you mentioned stock bumper. If it's used for function it will probably bend the bumper. If you made plates and had it go to the mounts I guess it wouldn't bend, but it probably wouldn't look good. Do what you want though.

I think a stinger on a stock jeep is "OK". It looks good on bigger rock buggies. It all depends on the Jeep.

I had an Olympic bumper with stinger on my lifted 2001 Cherokee. It looked cool and was functional but didn't really flow along the lines of my Jeep. I got rid of it for a stock bumper.

(Yes. Its my 1968 Vette in the front. 327/4sp. And my dog you see is named "Cherokee")

I'd say most people do not need one but take a look at this it might help you decide what's best for you.
