Default Should I upgrade to lsd when I regear?

I have a '10 sport with d30 3.7 ratio up front. I want to see if it is worth it to put in a Detroit true track LSD or something other than just the open carrier when I regear. Is an LSD going to help off-road? This is my dd and I don't plan on any serious rock crawling. I have been reading that a locker will lead to broken axle shafts, so I am just looking for some more input. Thanks!

another option is a aussie or spartan type locker, still use your same carrier. never used one so i cant say how well they perform. i was in the same situation but i went a diffrent route

yeah, a true track up front would be nice to have but, assuming you've got nothing in the rear, i might consider installing a locker back there first.

some had a lsd in the back, check your build sheet for a anti spin on the back. think the sports with the tow package had them.

Agreed you should check your built sheet first to make sure you don't already have one. Even a LSD can be a significant advantage offload over an open differential. Definitely ensure you address the rear axle first before the front (or both).

A LSD can also help in poor weather conditions on-road whereas most "lockers" are only helpful in 4wd low offload.
