I want to mount a rack to my hard top for gear, but looks and function matter. I'll haul a kayak and camping gear mostly. Show me what you guys have done? And suggestions?

I was told that Yakima only says bikes and skis/snowboards can be put on a hardtop using their rail system or drilling towers.

If you are going to mount to the rain gutter, you must only use the portion on the rear section and NOT the freedom tops. That gutter has no support and is only for rain.

So, by Yakima's standards, a basket is not to be used.

All of this info is from Rack Attack here in Denver, CO.

It's a bummer for me because I am now selling my Megawarrior on CL.
