That's that wire cover stuff (I can't remember what you call it). I ran a wire from my back-up light to the camera in the wheel of the spare tire for a clear rear view.

 

I love them. The locking mechanism and having to lift the pin to release the carrier is a little bit of a pain by yourself with a 37 but it can be done by one person. Two people make it a lot easier.
