Exclamation shrockworks rock sliders stepability?

hey im diggin the look of the new shrockworks rock sliders for my 07 jk unlimited

BUT

i want to know if they are able to be used as a step to get into the jeep. thats one complaint i have and when i jack it up it will only become more of a problem

the surface looks smooth and kind of dangerous to stand on a metal tube like that

any suggestions for TOUGH off-road-worthy jeep jk unlimited steps?

I have two words for you on the sliders...... Grip Tape.... like they use on skate boards, works like a charm,

as far as step-ability, You will be able to use these as a step, no problem

I've used them for years and never had any slipping issues. 1" wide grip tape is an easy tracking enhancer though. Dont get wider than 1". If it wraps all the way around the tube it will catch on clothes if you step over them....BTDT.

On the website they offer a textured black powder coat. I wonder if that would provide any grip?

Be wary of the textured. Jim said the textured does not touch up easily with black spray paint like the powder coated does.

Just to clirify....you can spray over it fine, I've just never seen textured black spray paint, so the scratches will stay smooth if you use normal paint for touchups.

You could try the Dupli-color brand spray can truck bed liner. It looks very similar when new, but I'm not sure if the two will age differently....so I prefer the semi-gloss for sliders personally.

I ordered 4 of these for 10 bucks a pair here.

And will put some strapping on them and let them dangle to get in and pull them inside to go.

I guess another option would be electric retracting steps. That way when you don't need a step nothing is hanging down in the way.
LMAO!

wow, the possibilities here are endless...

I... I... gawd it is hard not to type...
