Default Sidewall, C or E

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on some Goodyear 265/75-16 Duratracs. Just deciding on the sidewall rating. The E rated sidewall is obviously stiffer than the C. Is it true you need around 45-50 pounds to keep E inflated for around town driving? Is it a much harsher ride around town? As mentioned in my other post, we do some trailing but no serious off roading over boulders and such. Would the C be a better daily driver than the E? Does it matter that much?

Im running 33" Duratracs, load range E's. I haven't noticed them preforming much different than my stock tire as far as ride quality. They're not harsh.

If I were going with a tire that size though, I'd go with a load range C. Why pay more for the E's?

I had E rated MTR's and ran them at 40psi. Never had uneven wear patterns. Didn't hurt my gas milage (at least not noticeable). As far as airing down.. They definetly didn't bulge at 16psi.. I would drop to 13 and have good enough grip (maybe more than I really need) go with E rating if that's what is available ... I would do it again if I could afford the MTRs again.

I run my e-rated grapplers at 30lbs on the street with no issues and perfect wear

Got E rated 33x12.5 duratracs due to hearing about stiff ride with E. I like the C ride and they are lighter (6lb per tire/rim with mb72 rims) than stock 32 rubis. Personally they work for my set of circumstances.

E rated tires are bacsically made to go under F-350s and the like. Plenty of people run them on jeeps, but there is no need to, c or d is better suited to the weight of a jeep depending on what the jeep is carrying

After reading here and talking with the rep at Discount Tire, I decided the "c" load range would be best for me.

Get the C's-no question you'll have a better on road comfort with a C-frankly unless your looking for ridiculous rock crawl durability there is absolutely no reason to put an E rated tire on a Jeep-they just don't weigh enough.

I'm getting the cousin to this tire, the Kelly Safari TSR, in the same size with the same "C" load rating. The weight difference is phenomenal. "E" rated tires are HEAVY. The "C" rated version only weighs 43 lbs. per tire!
