Default Skid Plate / Armor Priority Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

I have been back through some of the old posts looking for support regarding skid plate priority and selection.

I have an '08 Rubicon, 2-door with stock skids. I "plan" on doing moderate wheeling in the near future.

From what I have read, the engine skid should be a high priority. Good conclusion? If so, what are the better choices?

The stock gas tank skid already has a sizable dent in it, so I am considering replacing it with something more stout. Good idea?

Any thoughts on the transmission and transfer case? (I'm not sure if some fabricators offer skids which protect multiple components with one skid.)

I am running the LoD sliders and the Northridge/OME LT lift. (I want to make sure that any armor would be compatible.)

Thanks

Jeff

General concencus is that the gas tank skid takes a ton of punishment before it fails and the only ABSOLUTE nessecity is an oil pan skid. Also considering getting a high clearance exhaust and a skid for your evap canister because you will hit it. Poison Spyder sells a nice evap skid. Ive heard alot of people say that relocating is fine, but id rather leave all the factory hoses and wiring intact.

Thanks for your input.

I relocated the EVAP canister last year shortly after reworking the exhaust. It's nice to be ahead of the curve sometimes.

Thanks again for your input.
