I did not know that. Do you know why the change was made?

All production after May 2010 has the wimpy skid bar. Some speculate the change has to do with over heating and cutting cost. I am not sure...

You might want to recheck that, my 2010 was built in June and I have a full skid for the trans.

Well Im doing full skids next because the first time I took my Jeep on the rocks I smashed the crossmember, bent the t-case skid and dented the gas tank skid. And I have used the stock skids several times sliding them on dirt hills and everything else but rocks. Funny thing about it is I did not beat on it, I took it easy and just tried to get over the rocks.

Mine looks similar, albeit a little less dented. I have a 2011 and there is definitely a skid under there which I thought was for the t-case. Ill have to compare to your shot.

In any event I like the Rancho glue on oil pan skid and its on my short list.

Good wheeling in Detroit? Might relocate there in August.

Yeah, sounds about right. I think mine is 05/21/10. It doesn't matter because the factory skid plate will not fit if they give one to me now. The mounting points are totally different. The crossmember is also different.

you'll forgive me but, it looks and sounds to me like you need to learn how to pick some better lines and go easier on the gas. both will go a long way. i have 83,000 miles on my white jk and 45,000 on my orange one. i work from home and most all of these miles were put on getting to the trail and i do beat them 2-3 times a month. neither of my JK's have cross members that look this bad.
