Default Skid Plates

Is it better to have a full skid plate or individual plates? It seems that full plates are more weight. I am wondering if I would get the same protection from individual plates over full coverage plates.

Weight was not a consideration, but it does help with CG. I was more interested in protection so I got EVO Pro Tek shid system. Very good product and has most likely saved me some repair money.

What are you looking at? I've looked into some individual plates and also a full system like the one River raiders sells, but without knowing what you plan on doing with your rig, it's hard to know what would best suit you.

Won't be doing any extreme rock crawling, but yes, I will be doing alot of crawling. I also looked at the River Raider set up and like it alot. Looking at the alum. set up due to less weight.

Pretty sure the weight is negligible. I went with EVO and am very pleased. Weight to protection to cost ratio=EVO.

I found the EVO Pro Tech for manual trannys on their website. I saw them on a vendor but only had them for auto's. I have them on my list to get. Thanks for the help!...

In a 2 door I think skids are over rated.

Here's the list of what I have done/would do in a 2 door:
Diff covers (#1)
Evap or move it (cheaper, lighter, and all around better)
Oil pan skid, just in case.
Lower CA skids, I have not done this and mine look like mushrooms (passenger side anyway, diff protects drivers side)

At some point I will probably replace the factory skid, but it's not even bent yet. Even the gas tank skid is holding up pretty well. I think I will swap out the cross member next year as it has taken some pretty good hits.

I didn't get any factory skids on my 2011...Dealer said skids are optional equipment...
