Default Skid Row versus Rock Hard Engine Skid Mounting

I found links to Skid Row's mounting instructions, but not Rock Hard. How do the Rock Hard ones mount?

Do you:
  • Have to remove an auto trans cross member?
  • Have to bend the exhaust hanger?
  • Other stuff: + and -'s

Default Rock Hard

super simple, did mine with a few jack stands to help me hold it in place. uses same holes as factory. the bracket in the front takes a little bit of hand-eye coordination, no drilling or bending.

You have to remove the stock Auto skid. And some people had to bend the exhaust hanger. I didnt. It seems everyone's exhaust is slightly different. Overall though it was easy to install with the help of a floor jack.

Edit: This is for the Rockhard

Are you talking about the Skid Row, I assume?

Responders - please state which one you are talking about - thanks!

Here are some pics of my front brackets on the ROCKHARD I think the newer ones have an "s" shape in them for more clearance on non-lifted JKs. I do not have any pics of the back, but it just bolts up to the stock crossmember using stock holes.

Rock Hard all the way.

Had no problems with the install. Plus in a pinch you can lift the Jeep from these and not bend them. I do not suggest trying it because of safety issues.
