Default skinny 35's

all the searches i have done, say that wheel spacers are needed for 35" tires.

i am looking at the 35/10.5/17 swamper ssr on my stock Rubicon rims.
does anyone have any experience with skinny tires on oem rims??

thank you in advance for your thoughts
Dave

On stock 18s I ran skinny 33s no lift and the rubber rubbed the lower control arms at full lock, but adjusting the steer stops fixed that. Later I added Spidertrax spacers for my future and now current lift. Guessing your lifted if you plan on 35s. With that taller tire, at flex the rubber will be closer to the suspension so spacers or new rims with 4.5 to 3.75 inch backspace is ideal.

You may have to add bumpstops to limit articulation and or run with no flares. Re: wheels & tires, I took the long term approach. We will go through multiple sets of rubber if we plan to keep our rigs. Tires in 17;18 & 20" are $100~$200+ above what one would pay in a 15" size. That adds up. I fall into the camp of more sidewall with an inexpensive wheel that if damaged I can spray paint, is better than a expensive must protect piece of jewelry. But thats me. I still like a clean jeep, and a dirty jeep too.
