Question SkyJacker (3") vs. Teraflex (2.5")

Well now what??? Spent my entire day taking off what I suspected to be a 3" SkyJacker lift and replacing it with a 2.5" Teraflex. The end result is that I've lost a full 1" in the rear already. I'm still working on the front, but I can already tell the Teraflex springs are an inch shorter than the SkyJacker's. I was also putting on a set of adjustable Teraflex front lower control arms and the JKS Quicker disconnects. Now I'm lost on what to do. I hate to have spent a lot of $$ just to lose a full inch of lift. I had already put adjustable trackbars on the front and rear to do away with the relocation brackets the SkyJacker used. I'm also running 35's and that inch I lost sure puts the rear tires close to my stock rock rails ('07 Unlimited Rubicon).

Any thoughts on what I should do? I'm considering putting the SkyJacker back on, but I'm not sure if I might be able to just swap the Teraflex springs for 3" set and use the shocks and rear sway bar links I got with the 2.5" kit?? I'm going to call Joe at Teraflex Monday and David at Northridge to see what they suggest, but I wanted to see what some of you guys thought. I sure don't want to spend all day tomorrow finishing the front only to have to pull it back off if I find there's another option.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!

Yank the Rubi Rock Rails and cut them down. Cut or bend the pinch weld for the body as well. It will give you plenty of clearance. Do you have the 2dr or 4dr??? I just put the 2.5 Teraflex on my Jeep and it is more than enough lift, almost too much. I could easily fit 37's but I am running 35's.

Teraflex 2.5 should be fine and probably give you better perfomance than the Skyjacker. Just cut the stock Rubi Rails and Pinch Weld Seam and be done with it. I also cut my fenders.

Why are you removing the Skyjacker lift? I'm just curious as to what you don't like about it. I have a Skyjacker lift. I will admit if I had to do over again I probably wouldn't buy another one, but I don't hate it enough to pull it out and put another one in.

I was pulling the SkyJacker out because of some of the design issues I didn't like, i.e. the relocation brackets on the track bars and the fonrt sway bar disconnect setup they use. What I've relized in doing this exchange though is that I've essentially replaced these components with the items listed above, so now I'm just changing out shocks and springs and losing an inch in the process.

OK, I was just wondering. Go ahead and use your Skyjacker springs and shocks with your upgrades. you will have no problem selling the Teraflex springs.

They do. I'm thinking now I should have gone with it as opposed to the 2.5" version. Or maybe left well enough alone with the lift I had until it wore out.
