Default Skyjacker Adjustable Control Arms

I have read through about 10 posts trying to find info on the SJ adj control arms. I know that people had problems with the old non-adj control arms and the bushings wearing out prematurely. Does anyone have an experience with their adjustable control arms? I ordered the front lower ones today through my cousins off-road shop so hopefully I will get them soon. If no one has tried them yet I guess I will be the test subject. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't waste your money on Skywacker.

Look at brands like Teraflex, Currie, Clayton and Fulltraction. These are products made for real offroad action.

Teraflex has one of the best customer support service known to man and their products are top notch. Just do some searching on this forum and you will see why.

Again, stay away from Skywacker.

Are there any problems with skyjacker besides the wearing of the bushings? How strong are the adjustable control arms compared to the old solid skyjacker control arms. I have the skyjacker nitro shocks and I am more than happy with them, a stiffer ride than stock but rides very well on the road.

Well if you are willing to settle for well enough then power to you, but if you are looking for suspension components that work great on and offroad don't bother with skyjacker. The other brands mentioned are superior in every way you can think of.

Is there any reason in particular you say that or is that just what you have heard. After reading through alot of posts all I have seen is bashing of skyjacker saying that they are not as good, I was just wondering why. Most of the posts said similiar things to what you are saying but did not say an specifics. I have learned from this forum that a lot of people just hop on the bandwagon without really thinking about it. I am not saying you are doing this, I was just wondering why you say they are not as good. The teraflex and currie front lower control arms both costs about 100 dollars more but they both appear to be very similiar. I think they both have rubber bushings on the frame end and similar end on the axle side. I know they skyjacker arms are 1/4 inch tubing and I would think the others would be similiar, maybe less.

you definetly have some good points..

I dont know much about skyjacker, I know they have upgraded the heim joints they had issues with in the past and are suppose to be fixed.

Alot of people forgot there some damn good Lift companies other than TF.

Currie, Rockkrawler, Clayton and fulltraction makes some great products.

Remember the engineering behind every brand of product is usually different in some ways. Skyjacker at least for the JK people haven't been too thrilled about the quality and performance. When you look at a 3-4" lift kit from skyjacker and compare the components to another brand there are things that you know that are missing or their methods have been proven to be less than effective. Like cam bolts versus adj control arms as an example. The location of the rear trackbar bracket. Whether or not quick discos are included or spring retainers. These are just a few examples. Also the performance of the shocks on and offroad. Just look at the reviews. And if that is not enough then check out the customer service.

I hope this helps.

I get frustrated reading through some of the threads because people say get this lift or stay away from that lift and it seems that most of them don't have any real reason why. I'm just wondering if anyone has used these or seen them in person or what not and what their opinion of them is. I like teraflex, I have their 3inch lift, I am just trying to figure out if Skyjacker has caught up with everyone else/ have they fixed their earlier problems with their control arms and their other poly bushings failing.

As it relates to poly bushings failing I don't know if they fixed that...but who cares? You made the right choice with Teraflex

Just messin with you. Its something worth looking into and I'm sorry if I wasn't helpful and seemed baised with out no objective reasoning.
Like I said earlier in the thread do a comparison kit for kit. With that alone should prove my point. After that the reviews on the internet not just this forum and if you are lucky you get to test drive different rigs with different setups. You can be the judge
