Default skyjacker vs rough country

i am currently running a 2.5'' TF coil lift with stock shock extensions. i am looking to replace the shocks to hopefully give me a better ride.
i am trying to narrow down between skyjacker hydro or rough country 2.2 shocks. I am sure either will give me a better ride then my stock X shocks, but which, in all your opinions, would be superior as my daily driver?
thanks,

Both are a lower end shock. I'm not sure they are even gas charged. The hydro is not. You'd need to move up to the nitro shock to get the gas charged version.

Is your focus here on price? If so, why not hold your money and wait for a sale to snag a higher end set (say Rancho 5000's, Bilstiens, or something even better)?

just a thought.

I'd suggest the Bilstein 5100's. Great shocks for the money.

I know I'll get "flamed" on this forum, but I'm running a 2.5 Skyjacker coil lift with their Nitro shocks and I'm very happy with the ride and performance.

No flame here. that's why I suggested them as an alternative to the hydro shocks.

I have owned the Bilstien 5100's and they are a great shock, but about 50% more expensive than the Nitro's.

The best "cheap" shock I've ever run (with a lift) is the ES9000. They are stiff as heck, but offer great support for a lifted vehicle and do fine off-road. However, they aren't in the league of the shocks above.

If you are ok on funds, why not consider an adjustable shock? This would let you set the shock to your preference? I think the MX-6 adjustables are in the 80/range.
Rancho adjustables are good as well. Then, there are lots more expensive adjustables available.

I run Walker Evans adjustables on my TJ in the rear and they work great too.

Bilstein, Fox, Elka (from Teraflex), OME, Rock Krawler RRD, etc. are all great shock brands to look at. Good luck!

I have ran the Tersflex shocks that match the 2.5 lift and they are a great match. I also have the Bilstein 5100's are they are very nice also just a little stiffer than the Teraflex. I have heard the OME rides nice. Just my
