Default Small lift. Level kit?

I want to lift my 12 jku a little bit and I am tight on budget but don't want to go cheap. I have rubicon tires right now. I want to continue to use those tires till I need new ones but to high of a lift with those look weird. What's the highest lift I can get with a level kit? Is that the best bet or should I get a 2.5 with coils and shocks? I'd like to keep the current shocks or what ever I can do to keep the cost down.

Does a rubicon sit higher than a sport or is it just that the rubicon suspension is stiffer?
