Smittbilt bumpers
Has anyone had problems with the src gen 2 bumpers? I like the look of them but a couple people have told me that they have had nothing but problems. Fit, rusting out, and general quality ...what's your opinions?
Idk bout the gen 2 but I just installed my src stinger. The welds and powder coat look good and fitment was on point. I had to drill the mounting holes bigger to get the big ass studs through but that's covered in the directions. It also says to drill into the crossmember to mount the skid plate but honestly that thing fits so tight against the crossmember that drilling & bolting it isn't really necessary. Long story short, if my experience with the old gen was that good, I couldn't imagine problems with the new one. Hope this helps!
XRC Front Bumpers - Smittybilt
I have these. Had them two years now. Have absolutely abused them and have held up awesome. I also have Smittybilt sliders/steps that I also can not complain about.

I have had Smittybilt products on a number of different rigs over the years and the product has always held up well.I have Smittybilt bumpers front and rear on my JK and except for enlarging some holes for the front bumper they fit well and have not had any issues ,I do use my JK for its intended purpose and I do not see any quality issues with the bumpers
I bought into the XRC package deal. Front and rear and sliders too. It looked ok, I was new to the jeep scene, and the price was right. Fitment is just ok, like others have said you have to drill out, line up , sometimes manipulate it to get it to line up.
So far the front bumper is staying as is, accommodates the winch, lights and D rings looks pretty good. The rear bumper tire carrier has already been replaced and bought a new one from another company that operates in conjunction with the rear door. Let me tell you, when I put in the new rear tire carrier and bumper is was night and day compared to the XRC. Everything lined up perfectly, fitment was more exact and every bolt went in smoothly. Having the tire carrier tied into the door with a heim joint is a godsend and makes the XRC set up seem like is was designed in the fifties. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for. Im slowly learning that I need to more research before I buy, ask lots of questions and read install instructions to make sure its the item i want. Cheaper is not always to best way to go, but sometimes works.

Blacksand said it well. Bottom line is Smittybilt aren't horrible, but they don't compare to other options out there on many levels. Fitment, quality control, finish, quality of steel, finish, etc... Will they work yes, and handle most of anything you can throw at them. But you do get what you pay for.
