I have the same winch and it's worked fine the 6-7 times I've used it. So far it's recovered 3 JKs (the same one twice), one big tree and a lawn tractor.

No problems so far. And mine is the first gen perm magnet motor. Great deal on the new ones right now.

I probably wouldn't want it if I was winching vertical, but for my purposes its great.

thanks guys, i forgot to mention , i have an unlimited , trail mud , and rockclimb , maybe 12-15 times a yr i hope , just getting back into wheelin after about 12 yrs away from it , i forgot how much fun it is

It should work for most situations. Make sure to get a snatch block incase you need to boost up the the pulling power.

1 more ? for you guys , should i replace the cable with synthetic , im getting it from a friend , very reasonble price , its only got 1 pull on it , is the snthetic worth the price or just run the cable ?

I say go for the synthetic. The amount of weight you'll save is worth it....not to mention the safety factor. I just got done installing the superwinch lp8500 and swapped out to synthetic.

If you use synthetic make sure to always check if the line is rubbing on something during a pull.

It will work fine but as others have said it is slow. If you are getting a deal on it go for it.
