smittybilt cab cover
Does anyone out there have any experience with the Smittybilt cab cover?

Please do NOT tell me about the Bestop Trail Cover... I've already heard a hundred times it is great.
I am specifically looking for info on the Smittybilt only!!
4wd Hardware is telling me the Smittybilt is the exact same as the Bestop (other than color).
I need someone to confirm that with actual experience please.

I have one. It works great. It is much lighter weight than I thought. Think about the plastic that is used for inflatable rafts then add a soft backing and that will give you an idea. when its cold, its a pain in the ass to put on when the material is cold cause it shrinks. when its warm it is very flexible and easy to tear... my has lasted 3 2.5 years and I am not sure it will survive all of next summer. Iput it on every night and remove it every morning during the warmer months. It is now showing stress tears along the back where it folds under the lip and at all the attachemnt points...For the $65 dollars I spent when I bought it, it has lasted ok. When I do replace it I will look for something more durable in the same price range. But I would otherwise buy the same thing again. It kept the inside dry from rain, and kept the sun from fading my interior when parked at the fire station for 3-4 days at a time..... All in all a fair value.

looks great!
For half the price of a Bestop it may be worth a try... plus, I keep mine garaged and should only need it in case of the sudden rain storms.
Anyone else have pics or experience?

Man i got to say for the price you can't go wrong.. i luv this cover..
I've had it for about a year now and this thing is sweet.. without the doors and top it fits silky smooth, with the doors on it's a little tight if you don't fold the mirrors in.. I've had it on during lite showers and heavy rain and this thing is great at keeping the water out.. it doesn't come with a bag from storage but i bought a thick pvc camping bag for wal-mart for $11 that is water proof as well so... win win for me..
Just remember to follow the instructions and don't over tighten the straps to the cover and it'll be golden for years to come..
Oh and i bought mine from ebay for $85 shipped..

I believe they're on sale for $39.95 at 4-wheelparts right now!
Worth a shot! I carry the jeep brand cover like this. Mine says "jeep" on it. Same thing, but more than double the price...
They take up very little space and they are NOT the same as the Bestop cover. That cover is much heavier and more bulky. I am guessing that cover would be more durable but I stopped carrying it with me because the Jeep cover took up less than half the space...

This was one of the fist purchases after I got my jeep. I've had it a little over 3 years now and I'm about to buy a Bestop cover because this one is torn all apart. It did it's job great for a while, but the plastic will eventually tear and the seems have now began leaking.
