Cool Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Overhead Console

Has anyone put in the Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Overhead Console? I just got one but before I put it in I wanted to ask someone who put one in some questions. I have the freedom top and when I went to size it up it looked like it covers two of the handles of the top. From that point I stopped the install until I could ask someone. The instructions that came with it were less to be desired. Thanks for your help.

I know there is a thread on the install with pictures that is pretty good. I will take a look around.
I have a hard top and gear overhead. It doesn't look like it's going to work with my factory hardtop.

I installed one a few months ago with the freedom top,it does cover two of the handles/latches whatever you want to call them and it’s a PITA to undo them now but it can be done
i’ll take some pics later

Thank you, I look forward to those pics.

I was looking at the bar seeing if there is a mod that I could do to get acces to the latches without to much trouble.

Is it made from standard SMITTYBILT cardboard construction?

Just installed mine yesterday. It does make getting to the center latches a PITA but I found an easy way around this. If you undo all the outside latches you can push up the middle a couple inches which makes it real easy to grab the center latches.

Most web sites state that this product is intended to me used with soft top models only.

heres the pics and like someone already said if you undo the outside then push up on the panels they come apart no problem, so basically you’re removing the panels as one piece

when you go to put them back on do you have any problems with leaking since you are not going in the order that they tell you to go in?? or is there a modified way now?? Also thanks for the pictures, that helped a lot.
