Default Smittybilt SRC rock rails...

Has anybody else installed these rails? They are giving me some difficulty. Two man job and still can't line both ends of the rail up to fit the screws. Took off stock rubicon rails first, so shouldn't be a fit issue? Any pointers?

Default I had the same problem.

I like Smittybilt products but their manufacturing seems to be slightly off.

Anyway, I had the same type of difficulty on these rails. Basically, what you're going to have to do is grind the front hole on each rail into an oval or ob-longed shape. Once you do that, they will slide right on. I just used a Dremel with a grinding attachment. I grinned in small increment and checked the fitment throughout the process. Once they lined up, I was done grinding. It took an few hours for both sides but in the end they work just fine. I've beat the hell out of mine and they are still kicking. Hope this helps.

^^ what he said. That is a flaw that ShittyBilt still has not addressed after many years. Oh, and if you call them they will sound surprised, so don't bother. I had to use a combination cutting wheel and grinder on my dremmel, I went through 3 grinding tips and two wheels to get mine to fit, oh and about 2 hours of bitching at smittybilt in my head while trying to fix their poorly manufactured product.

If you don't want to go through all of that hassle then return them and get the rugged ridge, they are almost identical and I have not heard any figment issues with them. Ace is another option for the price point.
