Smittybilt SRC Rocker Guards beware!
I'm looking for somewhere to buy a set of the SRC Classics with the step for my unlimited - any recommendations? No one seems to have them on their site.
I like the family friendly protection they offer as well.

You can get them at 4WD, PM Bustabuz and I'm sure he'll hook you up.
Small rocks like sand ect. Here and colorado all the mud/dirt is mostly sand Chris333 on here gets little rocks stuck in the gab between the body and the rail all the time.
Hmmm. Quadratec has Tough Stuff Rocker Guard gasket that sits between the rock slider and the body to protect the paint. A roll of it is about $30. Bushwacker also has a plastic TrailArmor product made to do the same thing for $140.
OK ...finally got my XRC Rock sliders today....installed them....a lot more to install them then I thought....the SRC's were 4 bolts for each side....these ones are 8 for each side. Took a hell of a lot longer than I thought it would. Smitty should really have the washers and nuts welded to the sliders and then it would make it much easier to install the bolts through the pinch seams. Took a long time and very frustrating trying to get everything together....kept losing washers and nuts...they just dont give you lots of room.
With all this said....these are going to be soo much nicer than the SRC's.

Dam, those look good Matador! I hear you on the mounting. Drivers side went on pretty good. Pass side took forever and some of the bolts did not line up. I had to hammer some to get them to line up. But they are on there pretty solid. BTW, how close is that round bar to your sheet metal?
Thanks guys,
I haven't tried hi-lifting yet.....they should have no problem....I had to use a Hi-lift using the old SRC's when i cut a sidewall at a Jeep Jamboree in June....they held up fine.
these new ones will have zero problem!

Matador, quick question. I just got my XRC and like you said trying to get the nuts/washer installed on the pinch seam is a Pain in the a$$. i'm having alot of trouble and can't seem to do it.
Can you explain to me how you got the washer and nuts installed? did you insert the bolt from the Pinch seam into the rock rail and use a wrench?

we used a small set of needle nose pliers to thread the bolt on first then we used a closed end wrench to hold the nut in place and tighten the bolt down.....took a long time...not sure why they just didnt weld the nut unto the rails to begin with and then just have to screw bolt on.......clearly the engineers that designed them have never installed them.
