Just picked one up. Where is the beat place to mount it? The hood or the rear next to my spare tire? Any suggestions? Thanks so much. Has anyone used one or own one now? What do they think? I got a great deal for it and couldn't pass it up

I have my hi lift mounted on the hood using warrior hood mounts. I love having it on the hood, but I hate the warrior mounts. Go with the ace mounts or something else similar.

Not on the tail gate. My son mounted his on the tailgate and it rattles non-stop...even after he put a rubber pad under it. The hood mount looks good, but I worry about having that much weight over the thin hood sheet metal even though it's attached to the hinges. I also worry about what might happen in a front end crash if it came loose. If you have a winch loop on your front bumper you can buy mounts that attach it there. That might be the best solution...and would give you an excuse to buy a new bumper if you don't have one with a winch loop.

I have a 48" Reese Farm Jack and mine is stowed perfectly underneath the rear seat of my JK. The top clamp and bottom clamp fit perfectly on either side of my rear seat supports. It's secure, out of sight, doesn't get in the way of the hard/soft tops, and can't fly around in the event of an accident. Plus it didn't cost anything to mount it there. Simply perfect!
