Default Smittybilt XRC10HD Winch/Compressor

I'm Looking to get a winch and onboard air. The Warn Powerplant would be the first choice but it is a little pricy. After researching some others I came across the XRC10HD by Smittybilt.

I know it's new but does anyone have experience with this winch?

Here is the info listed about the winch/compressor combo.

Rated Line Pull: 10000LBS/ 4536KG, Single LineMax Pressure or Air Compressor: 150PSIAir Flow: 72L/MinLength of PU coil air hose: 8mWinch Motor: 5.5hp/4.0kw 12VControl: Handheld remote switch12ft/3.7m leadGear train: 3-Stage PlanetaryGear Reduction Ratio: 148.2:1Clutch: Sliding Ring GearThe new Smittybilt XRC 10 HD is a 10,000 lb thoroughbred that has the looks and performance to handle any situation you get into. It is really the total package! We start off with one of the largest motors in its class - 5.5 State-of-the-Art Series Wound Motor and equip it with 3-stage planetary gear system with a 148.2:1 gear ratio that delivers lightning fast line speed. The all new HD comes standard with built in 150 PSI Air Compressor with a 2.5 gallon reservoir tank that can be mounted anywhere. The compressor/tank combo will provide more than enough on board air to inflate your tires after a nice day of wheeling or run air tools like an impact gun when a change is necessary. The XRC 10 HD is the next generation in winching technology!

I'ts probably not too bad a deal, but don't expect speed. Also, if you're winching vertical, I wouldn't want it, but the Smitty 8K I have has never let me down (although it only takes once). Perfect for my needs.

The XRC10HD would only be $600 with one of their 20% coupons they like to throw around.

However, keep in mind 72 liters per minute is only about 2.5 cfm, half of what the powerplant puts out at 90 psi, 1/5 of the warn at 0 psi, and Smitty doesn't specify the psi it's measured at, so assume it's best case.

Buy Warn. Support the USA. It's more expensive, because it's worth it. You're welcome to check out my Power Plant to see if you like it up close.

EDIT: That last sentence could be taken really wrong!

TGRT Smittybuilt winches are made by MileMarker. You know the same folks that have been suppling the U.S. armed forces with winches for decades. It don't get much more american than that. Oh and the 10K one I have works great.

I am pretty sure Warn is the supplier now for the Government.

And Milemarkers are not made in the USA. They are made in China.

Thanks. You beat me to it. American company does not equal American made.

This is true... I had a real struggle as I ordered this and they did not have it. They tried to send a plain xrc10!. The Smittybuilt WASP will be out in February. This is according to my communication with their reps, not the warehouse that is selling them prematurely.

I checked out your Power Plant at the GA Crawlers meeting. I really like this unit, not yours. I'm going to see what kind of deal I can get with companies giving 10-20% off during their sales.
