Angry Smittybuilt bumper tolerances

So I got a new Smittybuilt front bumper. Did everything I could to get it straight, but its touching the front left fender and has about 1/8" gap on the passenger side. The holes aren't sloted so I tried to adjust the fenders but still touching. Only thing I can figure is that its the bumper itself. I really don't want to trim "the wife doesn't want me to trim" the fenders. I can't afford new fenders right now. Any ideas?

Cheers

No biggie, remember, your fenders are plastic, give the other one time, it'll prolly droop to match.1/8in isn't much anyway.

My bumper is like this too. After a while it will start to rub the powder coating off. I took my dremal (spelling?) tool and shaved the fender off to where it will not rub anymore.

You could try enlarging the appropriate mounting hole on the bumper so you can adjust the fit.

That's what I did. Fits perfectly now.

I have a SB front bumper on my rig that I bought from a friend because he didn't like the fit. Exactly as you describe, one fender hit and the other had !/8" to 1/4" of clearance. Installed it on my Jeep and it fit perfectly. Seems to me the problem is with Jeep.
