Default Smittybuilt tailgate covers

Got a pair in the mail today but am a bit apprehensive about drilling into my tailgate. Any owners of this have any thoughts/feedback? I'm wondering if its just better for me to return these.

I love mine. I have so much I want to strap to it I may have to get the seat covers for more space. I was nervious too but in the long run Its worth it. The JK is lacking storage and this is a helpful add on imo. If you do put it on, Id say get a helper to pull it tight when you measure and drill. It could look like crap if it isnt tight and droops.

Nice. Did you do this yourself or with a helper? Trying to figure out if this is something I can do myself...

Yes Sir it is! I was going to use my girlfriend to help but I got sick of waiting on her. It says you can use tape to hold it up while you measure.....no.... you cant, its a pretty heavy cover even without the bags on. Maybe duct tape would work but I didnt want to clean up residue. What I did, and it worked out good, was I roughly held it up to get an idea of where it should be, and marked just the top corner closest to the Jeep. Drilled it, screwed it in, then used that to hold that side while I pulled it tight and marked the other side. Drilled it, screwed it in, then used that to hold it to do the same on the bottom. EASY. Repeat repeat repeat......

I have it and love it!! The install was maybe 20 minutes. Some people have reported screws snapping off on install but I did not have that problem but you may want to hit the hardware store for a couple of spares just in case. I carry my first aid kit, jumper cables, snatch strap, duct tape, safety glasses, flash light, etc on it.
