Default Smittybuilt XRC front and rear worth the money or not???

I can't find an exact or recent thread answering this question. So for anyone who has these can you tell me. pros and cons of them? I am referring to the rear with tire carrier just so you know. These bumpers are quite a bit cheaper and you usually get what you pay for. Help me decide please!

I have both bumpers, as well as the XRC sliders... no problems at all. I got the rear in 2007, and I heard about latch problems after that, but I have never had any issues. Everything has held up well to some serious beatings !!

The front bumper was kinda of a bitch to put on, the rear went on fine tho!!

NO complaints here.

Cool. The rear was the one I was worried about the most. I heard about the latch problems as well. Does yours rattle at all?

nope, you can adjust the swing out carrier with the two bolts at the pivot point. Mine carrier is tight, will not swing out on its own, does not rattle when latched in.

You know I have heard all the negatives about Smittybilt, but for all my stuff (and I do have alot) I have never had a problem and that's why I continue to keep buying the stuff...

I put mine on just over 2 months ago. Zero issues with front bumper and sliders. Rear bumper did need some tweaking with carrier adjustment as I was getting rattles on washboard which I guess isn't that out of the ordinary. I don't see how it would've possible for the latch to open itself though as it locks in quite nicely. I would hesitate to recommend them. Less than half the price of an LoD setup!

Talk to bustabiz on here and he will get u a killer deal.

Default Love mine

I purchased one almost year ago. Noticed it started to unlatch on it's own so I called Smittybilt and they were aware of this problem. They sent out a bracket to fix this and also sent a new latch handle(it is aluminum & had some wear). I am really pleased with their customer service and the way they handled the problem. Other than that issue I love my xrc front, rear, rock sliders...and all the other smittybilt stuff.
Call Bryan Hart(Bustabiz on this forum) he will hook you up!

I have the src, same bumper but tubular ends, I have had it for almost 2 yrs. It rattles a bit off road, I haven't done the latch fix ( bracket), it has never come close to opening on its own. I have also towed a 2800# camper with it, despite criticism on here, and I'm confident in it.

My dad has built his own bumpers and tows horse trailers and whatever he wants so I had him look at it to see if it might need a bit of reinforcement before I towed with it. He took one look at it and laughed, saying " it will tow what you want to tow".

For the price, if you like the way I looks, you can't go wrong.

I actually like the look better than all the other bumpers and especially the price. Thanks, I will contact bustabiz and order these soon!

I have the XRC stinger version up front with the XRC in the rear as well and generally i love mine. I've had them on for about 2 months now.

I did get some rust on the edges of the front bumper a bit where the powder coating came off (i'm guessing it happened during shipping since the packaging sucks), but a little touch up paint and its fine now.
