Default Smokin' hot brake rotor!!

Noticed that my driver side rear brake rotor was getting overly hot and smoking from burning brake pads driving down the road. So i decided to change my brake pads and lubricate the parking brake cable as well. Still smoking hot after about 5 or 6 miles down the road. Just the driver side rear is doing this. Any thoughts on what i missed or need to check? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks fellas.

seized caliper it sounds like. make sure there are no rocks wedged between the pad and rotor.

sounds like the caliper piston is faulty...time to replace the caliper before you start warping the rotor Or the E-brake cable is sticking and holding the pads up against the rotor.

were you able to compress the pistons easily? Sliders weren't sticking? Was the rotor discolored or have hot spots? If those are ok, check your parking brake shoes.

Then check the parking brake shoes (located inside the rotor).
