Smooth aftermarket shocks
Put a 2.5 BB on my jeep and I just went with the cheapest shocks without doing some research first (skyjacker hydro) the ride is really rough now and I heard that blisten shocks ride better than stock. I'm thinking about eventually getting some smoother riding shocks (probably not anytime soon) any advice??
unfortunately, you get what you pay for when it comes to cheap old school hydro shocks. however, you can spend a lot of money on a set of shocks and find them to be pretty rough on pavement too. i do like bilstein 5100 shocks as they are a nice, responsive monotube shock that offers a good ride at a fair price.
I am currently researching shocks and have found the general recommendations are Old Man Emu and Bilstein 5100's when a smoother ride is your priority. I have always been skeptical of people that claim "It rides better than stock" when talking about suspension mods, but,I put the 5100's on my 2011 Ram 1500 and could immediately notice a much smoother, softer ride. The brushed (aluminum ?) finish on the Bilsteins looks way better than the yellow on the OME's. I see some 5100's in my future
