But keep in mind that oiled filters do not work well with snorkel in the dusty condition. The dust will cake on to the filter and create a clog. So regular dry/paper filter would work the best.
Now... AEV snorkel has Pre-Filter set up which work with drop in oiled filter.

That's a good question!
I've never thought about whether a snorkel in a snowstorm would be ok. I suppose there would have to be a drain point someplace along the intake for water to get out.... but that would also let water in, defeating the purpose.
Does anybody have a snorkel in a snowy climate that might answer this?

So do you guys who dive into the water have a switch to turn off your radiator fan first so it doesn't slap the water and break anything?
