Wondering how rain and snow would effect a Snorkel in use do I risk sucking water or snow into my intake

A pre-filter can help with that but I would imagine it would take a good amount forced directly in the opening

Most snorkels have at least 3ft of plumbing before it hits the stock airbox, then it has to be drawn up another 1.5ft into the intake manifold, so I doubt you'll have an issue.

There's a picture floating around showing a cut-away of a snorkel with the water hitting the back of the snorkel inlet, then dripping down to exit the snorkel. Supposedly they are designed that way.
