Funny u should ask.
As the poll was fairly close yesterday, I decided to try something in the 4" range.
Since I know my current setup works, and supports interchangable tops, and the weight of the skull...I chose to make my first fiberglass effort by doing the following:
I am basically just fiberglassing over the existing snorkel, filling in seams and evening up the outer diameter. I can see there will be a lot of sanding and reapplication, but it might work. We will find out this week.
