Default Snorkel Help

Hey Guys,

Needing to buy a snorkel...(hydro-locked my motor). What are people running? Like the River Raider(hate the price), like rugged ridge (heard there were issues with sealing it up), not a fan of the snorkels up at the front (ie. AEV, voliant).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Does River Raider run sales?

Hands down river raider is the best IMO. Military spec with pre filter it has been tested in Iraq and Afgan deserts. As well as the amazon jungle

I'm waiting on the ARB Safari snorkel to be available. It mounts thru the fender not the hood. Welcome to the forum.

I have the rugged ridge the issue with the sealing is just over tighting where it connects to the air box. Easy fix, don't over tighten it.

RTV is your friend, and the install is not bad at all. The AEV was easier install but more cutting.

Im happy with my volant since its a CAI and a snorkel which is the reason I stayed away from the aev since that uses the stock airbox...install wasnt fun but anything involving cutting isnt. I also got myne for a lot less than most of the vendors on here advertise

How deep were you when you hydrolocked?

Well I have the rugged ridge one because I think it's nice looking and versatile ..you can always add the high mount when only going through really deep water so that's my vote. As for the sealing as long as you take your time and do it RIGHT you'll be okay. I've actually only heard like one persons complaint and they admitted to using too much sealant

Also it's very easy to go back to stock if you ever want to.

I agree that the big snorkels like volant and aev are sort of ugly lol

River raiders are also good quality.

Question for you, do you check yours often? (The clamp) I just recently installed mine and I'm trying to make sure I don't have issues

I like the look of the RR but the install is kind of crazy, I went with an AEV and couldn't be happier

I think you still can mount a light bar with Rugged ridge. You just have to do some cutting to the rugged ridge snorkel mount
