Default Snorkel questions...

I just installed my snorkel and I have a couple questions....
Is there anyway I can see if the intake is 100% sealed? Can I go in drive through car washes? What all do I have to waterproof in the engine bay to be able to completely submerge my jeep?

For my AEV one. Once the RTV sealant was finished curing, i filled my bathtub with water and stuck the snorkel and airbox in there to see if any water came in

Also im not sure your going to be able to "completely" your jeep. Theres alot of electronics under the center console that if they get wet may cause some issues

Edit: Dont forget to extend your 4 breather hoses

Dang I didn't even think of doing that! I used a lot of silicon to seal any possible way of water finding itself in. Before I test it I gonna silicon one more time

Did you silicone the holes on the bottom of the airbox too? i did and they still leaked so i used a whole lot of RTV sealant there

With my airbox opened up, I poured water just on the area where the snorkel meets the airbox. I noticed a few small drips making its way through, into the airbox. I also noticed that my holes on the bottom were leaking a lot.

I kept applying silicone at the snorkel/airbox connecton and used a lot of silicone on the holes at the bottom of the airbox. I siliconed from the inside and haven't had any issues. Dry as can be. I still need to extend my breather tubes.

Best (safest) way to check ur seal is: with the jeep running, take off the top and place ur palm on top of the snorkel. You should feel the suction on ur hand. If u have a perfect seal u should cause the jeep to stall since ur cutting off airflow. If it keeps running u have a weak spot.
