The actual cutting of the sheet metal is easier to perform than it is to actually bring yourself to WANT to do it. lol... The Aev is a little easier than the River Raider due to cutting a notch in the hood as opposed to cutting into the fender and relocating the battery.

its easy and fun to cut or drill thru a brand new vehicle

3in hole saw and thats its, the only thing with the battery is you turn it sideways and the kit comes with a new mounting plate for it, piece of cake I've got pics of the install process if anyone wants to see

ok the aev may be a bigger piece of cake though

I'm considering an air snorkel too. But, what's the difference between the prefilter and air ram? Besides the looks.

Those of you with the AEV. What is the total height as compared to the top? Lower, same, or higher etc. I've e-mailed AEV but they didn't respond.

This is the best "side" shot I've got....you can see it sits about 1/2" higher, and that is just the wingnut on top.

I strongly suggest the pre-filter if you live anywhere near dusty areas....this thing catches all kinds of crap in it.

that looks good, thanks. I'm thinking about ordering it with both tops. Figure the ram air for paved driving and the pre filter for off road.

I picked it up with the pre-filter for dry-dusty environments then I bought the Ram air attachment (later) for normal use. I haven't seen the pre-filter being sold separately so, that's why I did it like that. I wanted to option. I love the AEV, though.
